The Patricks take a decisive step ahead in the name of acoustic Irish folk with their second album "Rocky Road to Ireland". The group, consisting of five young Italian musicians, is already known in Irish / Celtic music circles, having played 200 concerts throughout Italy, including "Irlanda in Festival" in Bologna, Triskell Celtic Festival in Trieste and St. Patrick's Day 2018, during which they made 3000 people dance for 2 hours.
Now, with the support of the Maxy Sound label, the kids have created their own reinterpretations of Irish classics heard beyond Italian borders. The album contains 10 tracks recorded and mixed by Max Titi, including the best songs and ballads of tradition. Some of these are instrumental sets, such as "The Butterfly / Gold Stud / The Man of the House" or "Glasgow Reel / Aaron's Key / Banshee Reel". Others, such as "Spancil Hill", have their roots in old Ireland: A land that the Patricks love, and which they experienced directly during a visit together a couple of years ago.
The production, compared to their excellent previous release "Tales from Irish Waves", has taken a significant leap in quality. The musicians have also grown: Margot Zanetti (vocals), Alessio Malesani (guitar, vocals), Gabriele Girlanda (fiddle, tenor banjo), Riccardo Alberti (irish whistles, gaita), and Nicolò Alberti (drums, percussion) have managed credibly to embody a style - of music and life - that may seem impossible for an Italian to experience, but only to those who have not yet listened to the album. They managed this through arrangements in a folk-rock key, employing typical instruments of the genre and making use of the participation of two special guests on the album: the sound engineer and bassist Andrea Zenaro and the accordionist Manuel Girlanda.
"Rocky Road to Ireland" is an album that will delight fans of the genre and those who intend to get closer to Celtic music and the culture of Ireland. The disc is available in all digital stores and for free on Spotify. It is also available in the physical CD format that can be requested directly from the band.
